I ran across this tree near Woodstock, IL a few years ago and marked the location on my gps tracker so I would be able to find it. Well, Saturday was that day and I decided to revisit the shoe tree. I'm not really sure why it's there, or who put shoes there, but I think it's awesome.

I've got a shot of that tree circa 1998. Its been like that for a while. Might have to dig the negatives up for that now.
