This past week

Graduation season is now over! I was in the right place at the right time for this one.

I also photographed an American Cancer Society Relay for Life event this past weekend. The wierdest part about it was that after I took the above photo, I asked these girls their names, etc. and who they were honoring. The girl on the right said she was there to remember her friend, Jack Mead. Jack was a high school basketball player diagnosed with a brain tumor. I had taken a photo of him palming two basketballs in the driveway of his home the year before he died. I told the girl this, and she then showed me that same photo in button form on her shirt. She told me she has several copies of the photo and she uses them for bookmarks. Wow. Jack was a great guy, and is obviously loved and missed.

The weekend was capped off with a ride in the back of a pickup truck with some random good samaritans through the flood waters of McHenry. I forgot the wading boots and they were going to help their buddy save his house by using sandbags. Thanks for the ride, guys! The Fox River is still rising!

What a compliment to your photograph that it's in button and bookmark form. That's fantastic.
